I don't share Dean's attitude about this sort of thing.

The Wrong Line of Work
I spent a couple of hours putting up hay, earlier today. It was really fucking hot, and I got really fucking sweaty, and I also got cover head-to-toe with little hay particles, and sort of sunburned. None-the-less, I really don't mind doing that sort of work. I always feel better about myself, and the work I've done when it's 1-something physical, and 2-something with measurable results. I really wish that almost all physical labor type jobs didn't require you to be there ridiculously early. I feel like, if I have to have a job that isn't actually something I want to do, that would be the next best thing. I just can't justify looking for a job that would require me to get up any earlier than I already do (which has been somewhere around 5:00, most days, recently). And skipping my workout (or most of the other things I do in the mornings, for that matter) is out of the question.

Let Me Explain
Here is my list of all the reasons I can think of that I SHOULD take the bounty hunter training.
1- It is probably the closest I will ever come to doing the things I actually want to do, which are all only viable careers if you live in a fictional world.
2- There is a chance it might actually give me the things I am looking for in a job; meaning, enjoyment, excitement, enough money to live on, a decent amount of personal freedom, etc.
3- I think it might just be the best chance of me ever making use of my, very specialized qualifications.
4- Whenever anyone, specifically my parents, give me advice on what jobs I should try I frequently find myself saying "Do you think I look like someone who could get hired to be a ______?" Well, you know what? I think I kind of do look like someone who could get hired to be a bounty hunter.
5- It would make me feel like a total badass which, as I'm sure you all know, is one of my biggest goals in life.
6- I think there is a god chance it could help me to achieve some of my other goals, like maybe #31, #36, #79, and #83 for example. Or maybe I just think that because I watch too much TV, who knows.
7- The training costs $600, which sounds like kind of a lot of money (at least to me) until I think about how much debt I have from all of the other education I've gotten that ended up doing me absolutely no good. So basically, even if I never use it, it's not that much of a waste when you consider my history.
8- If I don't end up actually working as a bounty hunter, I still think the training may very well be the coolest fucking thing I've ever done. Seriously, just read the schedule and tell me that doesn't sound like THE MOST FUN!
9- According to this site, in WV, the average bounty hunter makes $45,000 a year. Shit, if I could make half that I'd still be doing better than I have with any of my other jobs (sadly).

10- I found this on Pinterest yesterday and I thought to myself "You know what? Okay! I will!"
Well...... Maybe I Am
Do you guys remember, a long time ago, I mentioned the idea of taking training to be a bounty hunter? I suddenly remembered that a couple of days ago and thought "Why didn't I do that?" Well, to be honest, the reason I didn't do it was because it sounds kind of stupid when you say it out loud (or type it). However, when you compare the prospect of becoming a bounty hunter to the prospect of continuing to work doing things that bore the fuck out of me and hating everything for the rest of my life, it doesn't sound quite as stupid anymore. At least I don't think it does. So yeah, I think I might really do it. I'm going to wait until spring because 1-The closest place to do it is in New York and I don't want to pay for it and then not be able to get there because of bad weather or whatever. 2- Maybe I will come up with a better idea, but I doubt it. I think if I was going to come up with a better idea, I would have by now. Anyway, I think maybe for tomorrow I will make list of all the reasons this isn't as ridiculous as it sounds.

So Maybe I was Being Unreasonable
Okay, so maybe I really was being unreasonable before. I have still been talking to the guy I met on Vegan Passions and I think he wasn't actually being an ass after all. I guess I'm just so used to people being asses to me that I have learned to expect it. Anyway, he actually seems pretty cool.
Now to the point. We were talking about jobs and he said that no one actually loves their job, and that the people who say they do are really just saying that to make themselves feel better. I think he may be right. I know that's the case with most people, because most people don't get to do what they had always wanted to do with their lives. What I'm really wondering about is the people who do get to do what they had always wanted to do. Do you think that as soon as you start doing something professionally it automatically loses it's appeal? I think it very well may. We actually discussed this phenomenon in one of my psych classes once. I believe the theory was (something like) as long as you're doing something just because you enjoy it, you get an emotional reward from it. However, if you add in a monetary reward it sort of negates the emotional one, and all of a sudden the thing that used to be fun is now a hassle because "it's your job." What do you think? Does anyone actually love their job?

I mean, even Sam and Dean hate their job and they have the best job ever.

What More Can a Girl Ask for?
As I've said about a million times (sorry about that, by the way.) what I really want out of a job is purpose. I want to be able to say that my job means something. However, considering the fact that it may be entirely delusional to think that I could find such a job, I've given a lot of thought to what kinds if things I'm looking for in a regular, just for the money, job. I've come up with;
1-I want something physical to do. I can't handle just sitting around all day.
2-I want to be able to take time off if I want it.
3- I want to be able to work evenings so that I don't have to get up at 3am just to get ready.
4- I don't want to have to have a separate wardrobe to wear to work.
5- I want to stay busy.
6- I want to have enough free-time to do the things I actually care about.
7- I want to do something I'm good at.
8- I want to be able to feel, at least, okay about what I do.
9- I don't want to have to deal with animal products.
10- I want to be able to make enough money to get by.
Then I realize that, except for that last one. I pretty much have all of that at Goodwill. And then I think ......

I Want to Do that!
Today, we were supposed to go grocery shopping but instead my sister and I went to see The Conjuring. I will say, I was pleasantly surprised. It was the best horror movie I have seen in quite a while. Supposedly it was based on the actually files of this couple called Warrens who were paranormal investigators. Who knows how much of the movie was actually true (probably not much) but if even a tiny bit of it was, I want to do that! I tried to convince my sister to hunt ghosts with me, but she vehemently refused :(

Running Into Burning Buildings
*This is the post I wrote a while back and then removed because of what happened in Boston. I figured I might as well go ahead and post it now because, at this point, it's probably not going to get any less offensive.*
This probably makes me a truly awful human being but I often find myself hoping that I will come upon some terribly dangerous situation; you know like a car accident, or a burning building, or a robbery, or something. It's not that I hope those things will happen, it's just that if/when they do happen I hope I'm there. You hear about people who find themselves in these situations and do something crazy and save people's lives. I want to be one of those people.

I was looking for a picture of a burning building and found this. So I just thought I would share. Enjoy.

100th Post
This is my 100th post here. So I'm going to celebrate with (what else?) a list! In case you didn't notice, I don't actually know how to celebrate. Sorry. Anyway, here are 100 things I want to do in my life. Disclaimer- In order to get 100 things I had to include everything from the ridiculously mundane to the (almost) certainly unattainable. Also, some of these I've talked about before.

Mayhap.........
I finally got my application for the police department turned in yesterday. We'll see what happens now. I still have no idea if I'll get it or, if I do get it, if I'll be able to make it work. I do have another idea if this job doesn't work out though.
About a week ago, I found an article called " 6 Badass Jobs That You're Probably Already Qualified to Do" The first job on the list? Bounty hunter, which they describe as "all the action and danger of being a cop, with none of the rules." To which I replied "Holy fuck! That's exactly what I want!" Apparently, there is a Bounty Hunter Training Academy that offers a two day course that will teach you things like;
Door/window breach
Non-lethal force
Forcible entries
Tactical take downs
Surveillance
Pre-text art (Essentially, lying)
Weapons handling
Weapons disarmament
Close quarters combat
So basically it sounds like they teach people how to be Sam and Dean. Sign me up! Seriously though, if the whole cop thing doesn't work out, this sounds like a pretty good back up plan.

Qualifications: Volatile, Vegan, Fearless to the Point of Stupidity, Strong, High Pain Tolerance, Burning Desire to Do Things that May Result in Death, Hard Worker.
I haven't mentioned this before because I wasn't sure about it. I'm still not sure, but I have decided to mention it anyway because now I've realized that I need advice! I've been thinking about applying for a job as a police officer. I know it sounds ridiculous! The reason I'm considering it is because I am so fucking bored I think my head is going to explode! I NEED excitement in my life. I need a job that makes me feel alive. The problem is, I live in West Virginia and if I do get this job I will probably just end up arresting a bunch of drunk rednecks and still not doing anything exciting. Plus I don't particularly like authority figures, I hate uniforms, and it has recently come to my attention that I may or may not be able to eat at the Police Academy (since I'm vegan). So here's my question; what should I do with my life? I want a meaningful but exciting job, that doesn't require me to do things I don't believe in, and I can't for the life of me think of a single job that fits that description. HALP!

Is There a Company Somewhere That Hires People to Go Around Kicking the Shit Out of Factory Farmers?
I could be wrong here, but don't most people have a dream job? Doesn't almost every person on the planet have a job that they want to do, even if it's completely unrealistic? I truly don't know what I would do, even if I could choose any job in the world. I have given this a lot of thought because, if I could find it, I would do ANYTHING to get it, but it just doesn't exists. I want to do something truly meaningful, that will allow me to help animals (and maybe people) but that is also exciting. When I say exciting, I really mean life-threatening. I want a job where, at the end of the day, my soul is fulfilled and my heart is pounding.
